Committed to Our Community
The Partners and staff of KPMG take considerable pride in their ongoing commitment to the local community and are strong advocates of the principles of sound Corporate Social Responsibility. KPMG’s primary focus is Education and Youth Development, however the Firm also supports a number of ‘grassroots’ charities serving the broader community in the areas of health care, elder care, the environment and the arts and humanities. KPMG’s giving policy is currently restricted to Bermuda and Bermudian registered charities. The Firm does not fund individuals, religious organizations or overseas trips or events. The Firm will however support certain community outreach projects led by religious based organizations, such as the Salvation Army. KPMG actively encourages staff to participate in the community and, although the Firm does not aim to have a structured matching programme, it does seek to support staff led initiatives as and when possible. In addition to their annual grants to local charities, the Partners of KPMG commit significant resources annually to KPMG “Make A Difference Day” (MADD). Each year KPMG closes its office for an entire day so that staff and partners alike can participate as a team in a community project. Last year the Firm raised over $15,000 for the Bermuda Riding for the Disabled by organizing a sponsored walk from Hamilton to Dockyard. The Firm also donates audit services to a variety of local charities. The Firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, chaired by Managing Partner Steve Green, meets quarterly to review applications for funding.
